This quote by Saint Paisios of Mount Athos has a very special place in my heart:
So in every test, let us say: “Thank you my God, because this was needed for my salvation.” – Saint Paisios of Mount Athos.
In times of great difficulties, I forget that the trials that I face, no matter how difficult they may be, God always allows because they benefit me and are necessary for my salvation. Because God is shaping and forming me to be more like his Son!
There are many Bible verses that speak about this, such as:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ – 1 Peter 1:7
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. – Job 23:10

January 11, 2023 at 1:09 pmThank you for your comment Mary! Yes me too, I really love this quote because during times of trials and difficulties, I remember this quote and realize that God is working on my salvation. Then those times don’t seem so difficult, but comforting because I know that God is shaping me and forming me into the image of His Son! Isn’t that amazing? 🙂

January 15, 2023 at 1:37 pmHi Milovan. Thanks for your comment. Yes Father Gabriel’s favorite places to pray are usually at church or on a high hill or mountain. He feels closer to God when he prays at these places.
