It’s been a over a year since my last Father Gabriel Orthodox Christian comic strip. I really wanted to do another one, and being busy with my Father Gabriel children’s book and also a new Father Gabriel animated episode, I put the comic strips on hold…until now. Recently, I was reading Charles Shulz’s The Peanuts comic strips and was just so captivated by their innocence and humor, as well as the beautifully simplistic art. So that inspired me to put the children’s book and the animated episode on hold for a short while and work on a new comic strip. Just about the same time, I came upon this beautiful quote from Saint Paisios of Mount Athos, and I knew that I wanted to use this for my comic strip.
Miracles happen through the prayers of a small child. Whatever they ask of God He gives them because they are guileless and He hears their pure prayer. I remember one time our parents had gone out into the field and had left me in the house with my two younger siblings. The sky suddenly darkened and a torrential rainstorm began., “What will our will our parents do now?” we said. “How will they get back home?” The two little ones began crying. “Come here,” I told them, “we will ask Christ to stop the rain.” The three of us knelt down before the family’s icons and prayed. In just a few minutes the rain stopped.
– Saint Paisios of Mount Athos
So beautiful! I knew that I wanted the focus of this comic strip to be on a small child’s prayer, but I can’t do a comic strip without Father Gabriel appearing somewhere, so I decided to have him accompany the child in prayer. I hope you enjoyed this comic strip and God willing more will be coming soon!

October 29, 2019 at 1:04 pmThank you very much for your comment Mary, I’m glad you liked my latest comic strip. Yes you’re right, we should be like little children, as the scripture says, “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 18:4. God loves the pure prayers of a small child, we should all strive to be more like them.
